Best Restaurants for a Night Out in the Poconos
The Frogtown Chophouse
The Frogtown Chophouse is one of our favorite places to go for a nicer evening out in the Poconos. Their steaks, chops, and crab cakes are always excellent. If you’re looking for a more low-key dining experience, the Chophouse Burger and Frogtown Fries can’t be beat. They also often offer a complimentary appetizer of the day, which is always a nice treat. The beverage offerings and extensive wine list mean there’s something for everyone!
The ambiance at the Frogtown Chophouse is upscale but still cozy and warm. It’s a little off the beaten path, so feels secluded and quiet. A perfect date night spot!

The Water’s Edge at Memorytown
The Water’s Edge at Memorytown offers a creative and upscale menu with options like smoked gouda and crab fondue and pacific shrimp putanesca. They also offer an extensive wine, cocktail, and mocktail list that certainly has something for everyone.
As wonderful as the menu is, the ambiance may steal the show at The Water’s Edge. The space is bordered with large windows that offer a peaceful view of the lake. Inside, you’ll find a large stone fireplace, high wood ceilings, and elegant white cloth tables. Though The Water’s Edge is certainly upscale, it’s also family friendly and does offer some kids options.

Stone Bar Inn
The Stone Bar Inn in Stroudsburg is a wonderful choice for a special night out. Their new American menu has some real highlights, including the stuffed mushrooms, rich French onion soup, and filet mignon. The interior has a warm, traditional, dark vibe and the service is always excellent.
The Stone Bar Inn also has a full bar with some excellent drink options—try the chocolate martini!
Garlic Restaurant and Bar
Garlic Restaurant and Bar, in downtown Stroudsburg, is well known for serving elevated American classics. Some highlights are the lobster mac and cheese, chicken parm ricotta, spicy honey salmon, and ribeye steak with the signature steak sauce.
The interior is bright, modern, and welcoming. Garlic also a great outdoor seating area complete with a firepit. You’ll want to order another martini and hang out all evening!

Butter
Butter, located in Canadensis and affiliated with the lovely Frogtown Inn, serves some truly special food. Their Butter Burger—with sauteed baby onion and mushrooms, sharp cheddar, and garlic aioli—might just be the best you’ve ever had. Throw in some delicious handmade cocktails, and some house spun hummus or a margarita flatbread, and you’ll be set for a great evening.
On Sundays and Mondays during the summer months, Butter hosts their “BBG",” or Butter Beverage Garden. Their spacious outdoor area is set up with picnic tables, string lights, and outdoor games. BBG serves a special menu with BBQ and inventive sandwich options. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area!
